.....Things are looking up a little this week. I can finally hang my leg a little without the aching and throbbing, so have moved on to using the crutches a little more. Oh, my, am I a sight. Actually, I haven't taken a tumble for a week now, so things are definitly improving. The wheel chair is still nice for getting around home and when I go out shopping and such. I'm still in a fiberglass cast for another week and then I'll have exrays and see what's next. I'm so hoping for something a little less binding. The pain has subsided, but after being up on it for long, it swells and gets very uncomfortable. Thats my sign that I need to be back to the sofa or bed for more elevation and icepacks. Not my idea of fun!! Overall, even though I find it very hard to be held down, I'm trying to be patient and serve my time. They are still saying twelve weeks before weight bearing.......I'm a third of the way there!! YeeHaw!!I had a wonderful weekend away last weekend with Mom, Dad, Mindi, Eamon, & Macyn. We ventured to Spokane for a visit with the Stulc's. I was a little apprehensive of the ride over, but with the help of a pain and anxiety pill, it was smooth sailing. The visit was great. We did a little shopping, checked out Tim's beautiful newly remodeled office building and got to enjoy Caseys company as he was home on spring break. (Thank you Casey for all your nursing care.....have you considered changing your major to healthcare?? Dad and I kept you quite busy!) It was great to see Erin, also.....hard to believe, she's all grown up and ready to graduate. Thank you for being such a great "Nanny" to Eamon and Macyn. Hmm....I'm sure if you were to choose to be a Montana Grizzly, we could arrange some work-study daycare jobs in Missoula. Also, while there, Debbie treated Mom and I to an evening out to see "Regis". It was so enjoyable! We all enjoy his daytime show, so it was fun to see him "live". He certainly has a sparkle about him. He was performing at a casino near Spokane, so afterward we met Mindi, Casey and Dad there for a little fun. I played a slot machine and with Casey's encouragement to cash out as I was winning and put my winnings away, I ended up with $130.00 profit (all, off of $5.00). Thanks also Casey for being my financial consultant. A big "thank-you" to Deb and Tim, as their hospitality is second to none. It was so good to get away..........
I (Bret, too) would also like to thank all my great customers, neighbors, family and friends for all your thoughts, prayers, food, visits and well wishes over this past month. I feel so honored with all the great blessings. Everything is so appreciated.
Till next time................
